I'm still hung up on Torchwood. I'm really, really trying to distract myself but it isn't working.

Can't read fic, makes me want to throw up or cry. I'm amazed at how upset I am, is this normal? Is anyone still this upset or am I losing it? I need to know, okay? Please someone tell me.

I need a new fandom. I'm thinking I should start watching Merlin since so many of my favourite fic writers are writing so much fic about it.

The problem of course is turning to another fandom from one where slash was actually canon. It's just hard. I'm having trouble reading SGA as well, my brain keeps shouting 'not real, not real'.

Okay, someone over at Russell T Davies website/blog just called Ianto a sweet teddy bear. Major spoilers at the blog by the way, so don't click if you haven't seen CoE but plan to watch it. In fact, don't read the rest of this post. There are vague kind of spoilers on but I have very few TW people on my f-list anyway and those who wanted to see it have done so and those who don't know what happens. So. Moving on.

I love you woman! You have made me laugh over Torchwood, which was just fucking impossible at this point.

Although, I'm sorry to say this....but I'm totally finding the fandom lunacy that has taken place over CoE to be funny. I know, I know, threatening to hurt writers/directors is not funny....BUT COME ON. Someone threatened to throw a book at RTD! That image is just totally hilarious.

I hope they don't do it though. That's battery right there and it hurts to get hit on the head with a book. I'm not loving RTD right now, but seriously. Don''t get violent people.

I honestly do think that most people aren't serious about the violence/screaming they keep threatening to do. There's a deep depression in the fandom right now....hell, I'm so fucking depressed I'm actually having trouble sleeping. Not fun. I almost wish I'd never seen the show.

But they aren't going to act on it. And the other half of the fandom, the part that loved CoE (I'm in the middle, I liked the series but found the end to be too melodramatic and am too destroyed over a certain episode to love it, even if it was brilliantly made) thinks the half that hated it is crazy and likely to turn into a mental mob.

I'm trying not to crack up over the thought of hurled coffee beans. IT IS TOTALLY FUNNY. As long as they don't actually do it.  *hides*

Rationality! Oh fandom mentality, you're so funny some times.

EDIT: To be a 100% clear? I'm not encouraging violence. I've seen pictures of my law teacher's head getting split open during a 'peaceful' protest. Violence is very attractive until you're standing in a crowd, listening to people screaming.

Okay, so we were watching a murder case in the Supreme Court. Woman killed her husband with a hammer because she suspected him of infidelity.

The lawyer is trying to use a section to defend his client, a man charged as an accomplice.

Lawyer: .....if a person dies from a weapon that does not ordinarily cause death...

Judge:...are you saying a hammer is NOT a weapon that can cause death?

Lawyer: The husband....a boy of 13 years...

Judge: ...*blinks* That's not possible.

My fellow intern and I fall over laughing.

The basic issue was that the client was convicted on the basis of the report of the murderess' child which rang false. There was this whole part about how the client and murderess were talking before the murder.

Judge: ...now see, why were they chatting away before killing him? (I'm translating. In urdu he used slang which was...hilarious.)

Also, the lawyer took an hour to come to this point. Christ. I wanted to die. I don't know how these idiots get there bar licences. It's such an embarassment.

And I'm done.

Okay, far less Ianto than I would have personally liked but still a good episode.

I love that I went to the Supreme Court today, talked for an hour to a man who is an ex-High Court Judge, President Supreme Court Bar Association and a major player in the lawyers' movement and this entire post is about Torchwood.

I really have my priorities straight. *facepalm*

We got to sit in the library and talk to him. It was pretty cool. Also met a female lawyer who did her bar at NINETEEN. That was kind of...scary. She was nice, if a bit nutty. So good day overall. :D

I just saw Children of Earth, Part 1.

And yes, I did, to my utter shame squee (aloud) everytime Ianto was on the screen.

So we had this teacher Muazzin this year. I'm sure I've mentioned him before....hot lawyer we all crushed on. Khyzar would kid about him, make noises when he'd bend over, that sort of thing, because it cracked me up and because I was totally shipping them.

Anyway, phone conversation.

Me: Shh, I totally have this fantasy that he bends you over his desk.

Khyzar:...am I wearing a cowboy hat in this scene?

Everyone is swooning over the latest Torchwood radio play which features woobie!Ianto and somewhat returning-in-woobie-behaviour Jack, and weeping and all I did in the scene was giggle.

Mostly. A few lines did make me hurt. *clutches Ianto to her chest* *her soft, soft chest* Come on Ianto, I'll totally pay more attention to you then Jack does. Also, this speech was the stuff of fangirl dreams. It's just my unromantic soul that made me giggle.

What can I say, I like stoic, stopwatch Ianto. He owns my soul.

Also, I thought I was just seeking an adjournment before the District Court but turns out that I'm actually stuck arguing for having the case restored (my boss's father died so he missed the hearing and the case was dismissed).

And of course there's the whole asking a High Court judge for adjournment. Without having a bar license. These people are crazy. Only Pakistan is such mad shit permissible. Apparently Khyzar has already pulled such a stunt so I have faith.

( Anyway, for your pleasure, I have hilarious moments in the Pakistan courts (these are all true stories, a few seen with my own eyes)  )

Also, for Suksie's entertainment, I'm wearing white shalwar kameez Suksie. I'm supposed to wear a black coat but I can't find one for summer wear so I'm utterly fucked.

Also, on Thursday I have to appear in front of a judge at the High Court and ask for an adjournment since the lawyer who is supposed to present the case will be away on that day and yeah. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHH

AWESOME JOB. Free internet access, flexible hours, interesting cases. I haven't gotten a lot to do yet but then it's just my third day. On my first day I got to write a writ petition. :D (This is awesome in lawyer terms, I promise.)

AND my dad's friend gave me a ton of money for my last year result. The amount is equivalent to $300 :DDDDDDDD

True Story

Khyzar has this friend. Let's call him M. M makes a hash cake. Leaves it to cool and falls asleep. M's mom has this little ritual. Every morning she gives birds on their rooftop food.

Anyway, M's mom comes into his room, sees the cake. Takes a bite. He wakes up and sees her. Tells her she shouldn't eat it because it's stale.

She says she'll give it to the birds. And proceeds to do so, despite M's objections (none of which obviously were the truth.)

M spends the entire morning on his rooftop waiting for a bird to pass out.

Apparently they kind of just sat there.

This is never going to stop being funny. I always thought such things only happened in the American Pie movies.

At some point, I'll have to stop stalking Torchwood communities for news of the show, or rather, news of Ianto/Jack, because frankly, we all know I'm watching for Ianto.

Anyway, I just read this post up on torch_wood . It contains bits from Gareth David Lloyd's interview with Attitude magazine. And some adorable pictures.
